Project details

The Entwicklungsgesellschaft Datteln Süd mbH, a municipal enterprise of the city of Datteln, is managing the revitalisation and development of the areas of a former zinc smelter in Datteln into the Meckinghoven industrial park. Contaminated soil and groundwater from industrial production at the site require remediation. To this end, remediation work has been and is being carried out:

  • Remediation of soil and groundwater contamination
  • Demolition of the existing building fabric with processing and disposal
  • Project development and urban land use planning
  • Expansion of the transport infrastructure
  • Construction of the supply and disposal facilities
  • Deconstruction of the port area

  • Services in accordance with the project management service profile as per AHO: Project stages 1 - 5 and action areas A - E
  • Advising the contracting parties in the acquisition phase with negotiation of the purchase price and a risk-related redemption payment
  • Creation of an urban development model with real estate location analysis
  • Project management including cost and contract management for the entire project, profitability analyses, financial planning, total cost recording
  • Establishment and updating of the time schedule incl. control of the capacity framework
  • Advising the contracting parties in the sales phase with investors and assisting in the preparation of purchase agreements
  • Preparation of a remediation plan in accordance with § 13 BBodSchG, taking into account the more extensive requirements under planning law.
  • Development of a decommissioning and dismantling concept in the event of the final decommissioning of the port facilities and coordination with the Waterways and Shipping Administration
  • Expert monitoring of the remediation and deconstruction work incl. waste disposal management
